Privacy policy
This policy explains what information DepthPix collects when you use the DepthPix app, this website and related services, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run, protect, improve and support DepthPix, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile photo, an authentication identifier and your login status.
- App activity. Wallpapers, depth wallpapers, collections, clock designs, searches, favourites, shares, downloads, applies, unlocks and purchase-related actions.
- Purchase information. Subscription, lifetime access, donation or unlock status and the transaction identifiers provided by Google Play Billing. We never receive or store your payment card number.
- Contact information. If you contact support in the app or by email, the name, email address, message type and message you send.
- Device and technical data. Device model, Android version, app version, language and region, IP address, network status, identifiers such as Firebase installation IDs, advertising identifiers where permitted, crash logs, performance data and diagnostic events.
- Notification data. Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, notification preferences and notification interactions, if you turn notifications on.
- Ad and consent data. Your advertising consent status and ad interaction information, handled through Google User Messaging Platform and Google AdMob.
- Shared favourites. If you create or open a shared favourites link, we store the wallpapers in that shared collection and the share code needed to open it.
2. Photos you choose to design with
When you use Create with your photo, the subject is cut out on your device. A reduced copy of the photo and the cutout are sent over an encrypted connection to our server only to design clock layouts, and are deleted as soon as that is done. We do not store, share or use them for anything else.
To count your free photos, we keep a one-way fingerprint of each photo (it cannot be turned back into the image) with the date, linked to your account. It is deleted when you delete your account. Designs you save stay on your device and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app.
3. Information we don't collect
We do not intentionally collect your contacts, precise GPS location, call logs, SMS messages, microphone recordings, camera images (other than photos you choose to design with, as described above) or files unrelated to saving and applying wallpapers. DepthPix does not sell your personal information.
4. How we use information
- Provide wallpaper browsing, search, collections, favourites, downloads, applying wallpapers, depth previews, clock wallpapers, Studio and shared favourites.
- Create and manage accounts, login sessions, purchases, subscriptions and premium access.
- Show ads, rewarded ads and consent controls where applicable.
- Send optional notifications about new wallpapers, app updates, offers, your account or content you may like.
- Understand how the app is used, fix crashes, improve performance, prevent abuse and protect the service.
- Answer support messages, privacy requests, account deletion requests and copyright removal requests.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, security and app store requirements.
5. Third-party services
DepthPix uses these services, which process information under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config and related infrastructure.
- Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform: ads, rewarded ads, ad measurement, advertising consent and privacy choices.
- Google Play Billing: purchases, subscriptions, refunds and checking what you've bought.
- Google Play services: platform services needed for sign-in, ads, billing and app features.
- Cloudflare: delivers and protects our website and app content.

6. Advertising and consent
DepthPix may show ads, including rewarded ads you can choose to watch to unlock content. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalised or non-personalised. Where required, the app uses Google User Messaging Platform to ask for and manage your consent. You can change your ad privacy choices from the app's privacy or consent options when they're shown, and in your Android or Google account settings.
7. App permissions
- Internet and network state: to load wallpapers, account data, ads, purchases and content.
- Post notifications: only if you allow notifications.
- Set wallpaper and wallpaper hints: to apply wallpapers and live clock wallpapers to your home and lock screens.
- Google Play Billing: to process subscriptions, premium access, unlocks and donations through Google Play.
- Advertising ID: used by Google advertising services where allowed by law, platform rules and your consent choices.
8. How information is shared
We share information only as needed to run DepthPix and provide the services in this policy, to comply with the law, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect our rights and our users. This includes service providers such as Google Firebase, AdMob, Google Play Billing and Cloudflare. We do not sell personal information.
9. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes in this policy, including account management, purchase checks, analytics, security, legal compliance and support. When you delete your account, your account data is removed from our live systems straight away; copies in backups and server logs may remain for a limited time before they are overwritten.
10. Your choices and rights
- You can use many wallpaper features without an account. Some features need you to sign in or have a purchase checked.
- You can turn off notifications in your Android settings.
- You can manage ad personalisation and your advertising ID in your Android and Google settings.
- You can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information linked to your account by emailing [email protected].
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: open the Settings tab, go to Account and tap Delete account. Deletion happens straight away. If you can't use the app, you can ask us by email instead. The full steps, and what is and isn't deleted, are on our Delete your account page.
12. This website
depthpix.com does not use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and our fonts are hosted on our own server. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site and may set strictly necessary security cookies.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
14. Children
DepthPix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
15. International processing
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. Data protection laws there may differ from those where you live.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may also let you know in the app or on this website.
